WHO AM I?

Hello! My name is Pete Wildman and I am currently a mathematics instructor at Casper College in Casper Wyoming. I also currently serve as chair of the math department. I received a B.A. from Occidental College and a M.S. from New Mexico State University, both in mathematics. Before coming to Casper College I taught high school for about 10 years in Los Angeles, most recently at Marlborough School.

I am very actively involved in the mathematics reform movement and serve as Past President of WYMATYC and serve actively in a number of capacities in  AMATYC

I have a great interest in the area of adapting "real life" or industry problems to the classroom.  I  participated in a number of projects nationwide that have written real life applications for the classroom these include

*      NASA AMATYC NSF PC I and II

*      Wyoming real-life problems project

*      The MATHWORKS Project

I have been fortunate enough to win a number of teaching awards at Casper College including the Rosenthal Outstanding Educator Award, some PTK awards and  AMATYC Teaching Excellence Award (central region) 2001. I also am interested in integrating technology into the curriculum. I have experience with MAPLE  and the TI CALCULATORS. I am interested in implementing all these tools into the mathematics classroom.

If you are interested in any of these topics please drop me an e-mail
