How to get started

Instructor: Pete Wildman

Spring Semester 2000

Welcome to Stat 2005 section 95. I hope you enjoy the course. Statistics is a valuable and useful field for nearly every field of study. It is also very practical and something we use and deal with EVERYDAY! If you are enrolled in this course, please do the following items, before you begin

Get a book, It is Elementary Statistics by Mario F. Triola. You can order it from nearly any bookstore or contact the Casper College bookstore (307-268-2202 or e-mail WY@fcs.follett.com)

Get a calculator (I suggest a TI-83) or the free program STATDISK. Take this link to learn more about these two forms of technology. If you do not wish to buy a TI-83, you can loan one from the Math Lab - call them at 307-268-2865 (sorry no e-mail or web page yet!)

Sign on to the discussion list, Take this link and follow the directions. We will use this webboard in the course extensively

Write me a message at pwildman@acad.cc.whecn.edu, tell me the following information: Your name, your e-mail, your phone number and a mailing address. You also might tell me a little about yourself and any questions/ideas you have about the course

If you have done all of this, proceed to the activity page and get started working on Chapter 1. Have FUN!!
